Welcome to my blog. Peace be with you.
We pray not for God to learn what we want, but so
that our faith, trust and awareness may grow. God as a loving Father will
always listen to the prayers of his children. If what we ask for is the best
for us, our heavenly Father will certainly reply. To help us grow he may delay.

Pray as children
to their father
Gospel
Luke 18:1-8
The parable
of the unjust judge
Jesus told his disciples a parable about the need
to pray continually and never lose heart. ‘There was a judge in a certain town’
he said ‘who had neither fear of God nor respect for man. In the same town there
was a widow who kept on coming to him and saying, “I want justice from you
against my enemy!” For a long time he refused, but at last he said to himself, “Maybe
I have neither fear of God nor respect for man, but since she keeps pestering
me I must give this widow her just rights, or she will persist in coming and
worry me to death.”’
And the Lord said ‘You notice what the unjust judge has to say? Now
will not God see justice done to his chosen who cry to him day and night even
when he delays to help them? I promise you, he will see justice done to them,
and done speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find any faith on
earth?’
Prayer of petition
Towards the end of time there will many difficulties. In our
lies too there will be many problems and difficulties. The remedy for them all
is constant prayer to the Father, he does hear our prayer. But let us remember
that a thousand years is like a single day with God. Furthermore, and more
importantly God knows what is best for us. He will always do this for us. We are
to trust in the goodness of God and persevere in prayer.
God knows what we need even before we ask for it, then why
do we need to pray? It is express our trust in his goodness and love. It is to
strengthen our faith. When offered with faith, trust and love our prayers of
petition are a hymn of praise to him. Furthermore, only if we really need what we
ask for or really want what we petition for will we pray night and day. The widow
was desperate for her case to be solved that she why did not leave the judge
until he had settled it.
First, we must really want and need what we ask for. Second,
we must have complete faith in the love, goodness, and power of God. We must
thank him in the beginning for hearing our prayers as he will certainly do. He is
our Father and cannot but listen to his children in their need. As with Jesus
in the garden of Gethsemane, ‘not my will but yours be done.’ If his will is
done, then we can rest assured.
